4 Reasons to Be Excited About the CIPHI Annual Education Conference

Hedgerow Software is really looking forward to the CIPHI National Annual Education Conference in Ajax, Ontario. As the platinum sponsor this year, I’m thrilled to represent the company with CEO Neil Grinwis, and others, in September. Here are four reasons the Hedgerow team is thrilled to attend, exhibit and sponsor at the CIPHI National:

reconnection with peers

It really feels like the last CIPHI National was a lifetime ago. We can’t wait to see everyone again, including our host Durham Region Health Department, a Hedgerow client, and other environmental health agencies, industry experts, and fellow technologists. Was it really that long ago we dealt with a hurricane and had a great time sharing a drink in a powerless facility? Here’s to hoping for amazing weather this year in Durham. :)

data-driven environmental health

A colleague of mine recently wrote about the need to improve data standardization within environmental health and I think there’s a lot we can learn from each other at the National AEC. The proper usage of data (collection/sharing/reporting/analysis) is the key to removing bias in our industry, making EH more accessible, and getting everyone on the same page across provinces to better shape the future of environmental health. I look forward to hearing more about success stories and hurdles to overcome together.

insights across north america

At Hedgerow, we work with agencies from across North America and recently had great conversations at the National Association of Environmental Health (NEHA) AEC in Tacoma, Washington. NEHA President Dr. D. Gary Brown is presenting in Durham and will be able to share an interesting perspective on his experience in the United States, as they tackle many similar challenges we face in Canada.

ignite talks

Last but not least, we can’t wait to see future EH professionals unveil their capstone research projects from Conestoga College and Toronto Metropolitan University. Did you know that Conestoga College students working towards a Bachelor of Environmental Public Health (BEPH) degree utilize Hedgerow Software as a teaching tool? Students learn how to use real world environmental health technology before they enter the field after graduation. We’re proud to support students as they prepare for a critical career in environmental health.

What are you most excited about? Leave a comment or send me a direct message. Also, make sure to stop by the exhibit hall booth #22 to say hello to the Hedgerow team. We’ll see you in Ajax!
