5 Reasons to Be Excited About CEHA AES 2025

Written by John Dodson, CFO & COO Hedgerow Software | Apr 7, 2025 4:02:44 PM

Hedgerow Software is thrilled to attend and exhibit at the CEHA AES for environmental health professionals in Seaside, California next week. A pleasant drive for us from our nearby headquarters in Fresno, we look forward to another enlightening week at the conference while supporting CEHA’s mission. In fact, here are five reasons we can’t wait for the AES 2025...

1. Connect with regulators from across the state of california

CEHA AES draws environmental health professionals from across the state and we’re excited to connect with regulatory agencies, colleagues, and to make new friends. This will be especially true this year as we have…drumroll please… new clients within the state of California that utilize Hedgerow technology! Plus, we just announced that Darryl Booth, an industry leader with 30 years of experience supporting local regulators with their compliance requirements, has joined our team!

2. Disaster Preparedness & Recovery

One session that really caught our eye on the agenda is the CZU wildfire impact on septic recovery. Couple those learnings with the keynote from Garra Lloyd-Lester on Wednesday about how to make the most out of traumatic experiences, and we’ll feel more prepared for the next unfortunate disaster. As everyone in our state knows, disaster preparedness, mitigation, and recovery strategies are paramount for each of us that calls California home.

3. data-driven environmental health

Next, there’s never been a more important time for agencies to embrace data, reporting, and analytics/business intelligence to provide transparency for citizens and federal regulatory bodies. With additional levels of scrutiny on government agencies, we look forward to conversations and best practices sharing about what can be done to mitigate risk and impact on local regulators. Make sure to stop by the exhibit hall to see how Hedgerow Software is the safe choice for regulators that want to leverage data for reporting and transparency to various stakeholders.

4. communication best practices

On Tuesday afternoon, Larry Ramdin is hosting an interesting discussion on communication and marketing. What worked five years ago when communicating with citizens, operators, and regulatory bodies, may not be as effective today. We look forward to his thoughts on the topic as a practitioner. For a technologist perspective, agencies that are interested in using tech to improve communication and marketing efforts should stop by our booth. We can show you the Hedgehog Portal with two-way communication functionality for any compliance related workflow.

5. reasons to embrace artificial intelligence

Thursday afternoon has two exciting sessions on the topic of artificial intelligence (AI). Janette Ducut from UC Riverside will discuss AI tools and Darryl Booth will share practical uses for Generative AI technologies, like ChatGPT, which has amassed over 68 million users in the United States. Darryl’s session will be very hands-on, covering everything from the most prominent AI tools to policies, training, and employee impact. You’ll leave his session with access to a shared document that will be a useful reference after returning home.

There are many other agenda topics that look interesting and didn’t make our list--from the future of the EH, to the art of report writing and note taking! What are you most excited about? Send us a message and let us know. Also, make sure to stop by exhibit hall booth 20 to say hello to our team and get a quick product demonstration.
